Spectral Properties of Orchestral Instruments Measured in the Concert Hall of a Public School
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper presents the spectra of several orchestral instruments measured in the concert hall of the Liceo Statale “Alfano I” in Salerno, Italy. For each musical instrument used the variations of frequency of average signal unweighted (LZeq average) relative to the C diatonic major scale are shown in ascending and descending order. In this study the notes played by eight instruments (flute, trumpet, bass tuba, drums, violin, horn, piano and tenor sax) in an acoustically correct room are measured using a class A phonometer from wich frequencies are derived. The most important data relating to performances of each instrument were processed in order to provide a useful data base both for designers who deal with predictive analysis for the acoustic design of concert halls and those who digitally simulate sounds produced by orchestral instruments. Native American Flute Ergonomics
The ergonomic issues particular to playing musical instruments have been widely studied. However, most research studies have focused on orchestral instruments and trained, experienced musicians (for example, [Lonsdale 2014] for Western concert flute, [Furuya 2006] and [BoyleRB 2010] for piano, and [Wade-MA 2008] for trumpet). The bulk of the assistance and advice published for musicians and mus...
متن کاملA Paired Quasi-linearization on Magnetohydrodynamic Flow and Heat Transfer of Casson Nanofluid with Hall Effects
Present study explores the effect of Hall current, non-linear radiation, irregular heat source/sink on magnetohydrodynamic flow of Casson nanofluid past a nonlinear stretching sheet. Viscous and Joule dissipation are incorporated in the energy equation. An accurate numerical solution of highly nonlinear partial differential equations, describing the flow, heat and mass transfer...
متن کاملConcert halls with strong lateral reflections enhance musical dynamics.
One of the most thrilling cultural experiences is to hear live symphony-orchestra music build up from a whispering passage to a monumental fortissimo. The impact of such a crescendo has been thought to depend only on the musicians' skill, but here we show that interactions between the concert-hall acoustics and listeners' hearing also play a major role in musical dynamics. These interactions co...

This paper presents the results of absorption spectra, fluorescence properties and the effect of solvents on UV-Vis spectra of dye quaternized 4-acetylamino-N-2-aminomethylpyridine-1,8-naphthalimide. The fluorescency of the dye was evaluated and its Stokes shift value was 6140 cm-1 in DMF. The solvatochromism behavior of the novel compound is investigated by studying its spectra in pure organic...
